Birtukan Dejene

Birtukan Dejene, born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, proudly identifies as an Ethiopian national. Currently single, she resides in Addis Ababa, where her creative spirit finds expression. Birtukan earned her diploma in Graphic Art from the renowned All School of Fine Arts and Design, a part of Addis Ababa University, in 1996. Later, she honed her skills with a certificate in Videography, Photography, and Editing from MASTER FINE ARTS and Vocational Training Center in January 2008. Her artistic journey also includes a certificate in Graphic Design from IMAGE Computer Graphic Design School in 2014 and proficiency in the German language from GOETHE-INSTITUT Addis Ababa and AVICENNA Institute in Germany in 2008. Birtukan's educational background aligns with her passion for fine arts, a field she embraced not only academically but also by teaching Fine Arts at Nazareth School from 2001 to 2007. Specializing in oil on canvas, Birtukan's paintings exhibit a compelling blend of realistic landscapes, semi-modern figurative art, and cityscapes using an impetration style. Beyond her creative pursuits, she contributed to academia at the International Institute of Physio-Social & Ecological Research affiliated with Addis Ababa University. Birtukan's journey is a testament to her dedication to the arts and continuous pursuit of knowledge and expression.
