HENOK is born in 1982gc. Oromia state Arssi Assella, Ethiopia, where he atennded the Fine Art study center, under
The Ministry of culture, where he studied drawing, paintig, sculpture from 1996 – 2001. Ann he granuated
From the center, he then went on to atend to the Fine Art and Vocatodal Center run by Master F. A. V. T. C
Where he granuated with Diploma in photography in 2003 Addis Ababa.
His inspiratoins born in his childhood, the city of Assella has a very beautiful nature and cultural environment
Bringing perfect equilibrium between different culture as well as balanced way of life with the surrounding
Nature, it was the founnation that len him to examine passion and indifference , pain and healing ecstasy , humanity,
love ,people faces, beauty, women, elders …
In his work he tries to apply the amazing beauty of Mother Nature and human beauty and its material manifestations
As well as the mysteries of divine which engage him deeply. And this digital world that lives with us today,,,

Habtamu Tibebe

Habtamu Tibebe is a passionate young artist born and raised in Ethiopia, a graduate of the Alle School of Fine Arts he now works full time as studio artist. Habtamu’s art is vibrant and expressive, each painting is filled with artistic detail- from a distance much of his work appears to resemble perfect mosaics. But in fact he integrates letters and tiny intricate designs within his paintings as his signature background – these designs are also woven into the inter pieces of his artwork. Currently his interest and focus is on the early hieroglyph (ancient symbols) Sabean (ancient Ethiopian text used from 700 BC-600 AD) writing system of Axum “He primarily works in acrylics but also enjoys creating engraving designs on wood and transferring to canvas.

Whilst at college, Habtamu used this time of study to actively participate in art workshops and competition collecting awards and gaining a solid reputation including a documentary through collaboration with artists from Norway. Despite his youth he has already held numerus exhibitions both as a solo artist and a group participant different art exhibitions in Ethiopia and his works have been exhibited in Italy, Sweden, and US, he has visited many art galleries in Dubai, UAE and acquainted himself with their works and offerings, and he is an emerging talent to take note f among artists here in Ethiopia. His interests cover the areas of canvas painting, visual communication, graphic design, teaching arts and other art related activities.

Girma Seboka

Born 1972 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a city where many gifted artists come from, Girma Seboka is no exception. He showed interest in art at a very young age and was recognized by countries such as Japan and Finland for his contribution to the international children and youth art exhibition.
Seboka attended school at Addis Ababa technical school and earned his diploma in drafting in 1994. From there he worked in an Addis Ababa municipality city development project. He the attended the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design of Addis Ababa University and earned his diploma in painting with great distinction in 2002. The same year, he held lectures at the university for summer students. From then on, he worked as a lecturer at the Abyssinia art vocational training center.
Seboka’s work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions in Addis Ababa and has participated in group exhibitions as well. His work can be seen in all prominent galleries in Addis Ababa to include St. George Gallery and the National Museum.

Gashahun Kassahun

Gashahun Kassahun, an Addis Ababa based visual artist, was born 1980 in Woliso, Ethiopia. He studied Fine Arts at the Addis Ababa University. School of Fine Arts and Design in 1999. He also majored in painting at the Entoto TVET College 2011. For two years (2017-2018) he had been as an art instructor at Entoto TVET College.
Working out of his studio he experiments with different techniques, mediums and forms. As part of the universe, he sees shifts in his daily existence that causes him concern about possible negative changes. His work is how he interact with the outside world and he attempt through his paintings, to propose truth. In this effort, he have tried to move beyond the knowledge and insights earned from his real world experiences. To properly express his thoughts and feelings he has tried to develop new visual language, based around organic and geometric forms.
Gashahun’s work has been showcased at various exhibitions throughout Ethiopia, including shows. The millennium heal group exhibition entitled ‘Art For Peace in 2018, the Laphto Art Gallery in 2016, solo exhibition at the Lela Ethiopian Contemporary Art Gallery in 2015, the National Museum in 2014(2), the Sheraton Addis 2014, 2013 and 2012, the Asni Art Gallery in 2011, Ethiopian National Theater Gallery in 2011 and 2007, the ECA (Economic Commission for Africa) in 2008, the Hellenic Athletics Association – Greek Club in 2007, the Hilton Ethiopia in 2006, the City Hall in 2000, and his art als a part of private collections in Ethiopia and abroad.

Fasil Assefa

Fasil Assefa was born on jan 27 and grew up close to Merkato. Which is considered the busiest sub-city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Home to…. people, the scenes of Merkato have greatly influenced his work. One of the largest open-air markets in Africa. The vibrant colors and chaos of this bustling city has been a constant inspiration to Fasil especially in his series of paintings as shown below. These Merkato scenes reflect the energy and adventure of the Merkato while at the same time capture moments of solitude within the chaos. Assefa graduated from Abyssinia fine art school then pursued his studies in Alle school of fine art and design AAU 2005-2007, then majored in paintings from 2008-2011 at ETVT college of fine arts. During his studies, Fasil was ready to exhibit his paintings in solo art exhibition. This collection of work titled ‘colors of Millennium’ was held at the imperial hotel. The exhibition was a huge success and opened the door for Fasil to pursue his passion as a full-time artist. Through out the last fifteen years, Fasil has showcased both locally and internationally.

Fasil Assefa , an accomplished artist, has showcased his vibrant works globally, from solo exhibitions in Addis Ababa’s Imperial Hotel to international venues in Canada and Europe. Specializing in acrylic on canvas, Fasil’s diverse styles capture the essence of Addis Ababa’s bustling streets and heritage sites. His recent exhibition, “Wudassie,” seamlessly blends Lalibela impressions with realistic depictions of historical landmarks in Piazza, reflecting his mastery and passion for art influenced by global travels.

Engedaget Legesse

Engedaget Legesse was born in Addis Ababa in 1971 in the district of Zebgna sefer – known as the Village of Guardians. Around the country’s New Year’s festival which falls on the 11 September, there is an Ethiopian tradition which encourages children to paint small pictures to give family members and neighbors as presents, and in exchange they receive money to purchase their school materials. As a young child Engdaget’s pictures were already seen as exceptionally talented. His mother recognized this talent and encouraged him further by bringing him into contact with local and European artists. She was the one who gave him his first art book – an illustrated book on Renoir.
During 1988, at the age of 16, Engdaget Legesse began his studies at the well-renowned Fine Arts School in Addis Ababa and in so doing became the youngest student at the Academy. His basic training in fine arts was followed by a two year specialization in monumental painting. He completed his studies with distinctions in 1993. He received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Services between 2003 and 2005.
Engdaget, is recognized as one of the most innovative and successful artists, of his generation from Ethiopia. He found his calling, against the backdrop of a centuries old traditional Ethiopian art form that was influenced by Christianity, and through this, his interpretation of abstract topics of art such as fertility and flora. He also confronts in his art, topics such as people’s wastage of food, through his daily observations in Germany. He finds his inspirational source material by travelling between continents.
Engdaget Legesse holds numerous solo and collective exhibitions. He lives and works in Berlin.

Endalkachew Tefera

Endalkachew Tefera Tadesse, a talented artist born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, boasts a rich background in the realm of fine arts. His journey commenced with a Diploma in Graphics Art from Ale School of Fine Arts and Design, now part of Addis Ababa University, in 1995. Fueled by artistic passion, he founded Abyssinia Advertising and Artwork P.L.C, followed by the establishment of Leo Advertising P.L.C. Endalkachew specializes in acrylic as his preferred medium, with a focus on oil on canvas. His artistic repertoire uniquely combines elements of Modern Art, cultural and historical influences, and imaginative figurative expressions.

Desalegn Enawgaw

Desalegn Enawgaw is a multidisciplinary artist born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. His artistic journey began at the Enlightenment Art Academy, where he honed his skills and passion for sculpture. In 2016, he delved into the realm of architecture and urban planning at Unity University, showcasing his diverse interests.

Throughout his career, Desalegn has exhibited his artwork at prestigious venues, including solo exhibitions at Golla Art Gallery in 2023 and participation in group shows at the same gallery in 219. His work has graced the walls of renowned establishments such as Sheraton Addis Hotel (2019, 2017), Radisson Blu Hotel (2012), Taitu Hotel (2012), and the Ethiopian National Theater Art Gallery (2010).

Desalegn’s artistic journey has taken him to various platforms, including the Art-Et Art Gallery in 2014, Asni Gallery at Lafto Mall in 2009, and the Teferi Mekonen School of Fine Art Gallery in 2012. His creative endeavors reflect a fusion of influences from his academic background in fine arts and architecture, making him a notable figure in the Ethiopian art scene.

Birtukan Dejene

Birtukan Dejene, born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, proudly identifies as an Ethiopian national. Currently single, she resides in Addis Ababa, where her creative spirit finds expression. Birtukan earned her diploma in Graphic Art from the renowned All School of Fine Arts and Design, a part of Addis Ababa University, in 1996. Later, she honed her skills with a certificate in Videography, Photography, and Editing from MASTER FINE ARTS and Vocational Training Center in January 2008.

Her artistic journey also includes a certificate in Graphic Design from IMAGE Computer Graphic Design School in 2014 and proficiency in the German language from GOETHE-INSTITUT Addis Ababa and AVICENNA Institute in Germany in 2008. Birtukan’s educational background aligns with her passion for fine arts, a field she embraced not only academically but also by teaching Fine Arts at Nazareth School from 2001 to 2007.

Specializing in oil on canvas, Birtukan’s paintings exhibit a compelling blend of realistic landscapes, semi-modern figurative art, and cityscapes using an impetration style. Beyond her creative pursuits, she contributed to academia at the International Institute of Physio-Social & Ecological Research affiliated with Addis Ababa University. Birtukan’s journey is a testament to her dedication to the arts and continuous pursuit of knowledge and expression.

Adefris Geletu

Adefris Geletu began his affiliation for fine arts since his childhood during which he drew different pictures on the sandy ground of a playing field, and he created sculptures using mud molding. Geletu’s background in Theology and his stay with souvenir houses helped him to specialize in culturally valuable religious and traditional arts.
Geletu has been creating breathtaking designs of rich traditional arts by adding unique modern flavors by applying different media including carved woods, canvas, leather, silver and the like. His peculiar decorative carved wood art products are popular among traditional art collectors.
Moving lines inspire Geletu’s moods and textures in his paintings. He incorporates traditional icons and ‘Tibeb’. He explores and develops new ways of artistic expression, that is traditional iconographic arts with a modern touch. Geletu expresses that he “feels alive especially when he stands in front of canvas with painting brush in hand.”
Geletu has participated in competitions and group art shows in Addis Ababa.
